Author Biography

Deborah Young-Hyman, Ph.D. is a diabetes/obesity researcher at the Georgia Prevention Institute of the Medical College of Georgia. With extended experience as a clinician, her research specialty is the psychosocial aspects of diabetes treatment and care. She lives in Augusta, GA.

Mark Peyrot, Ph.D. is a professor of sociology at Loyola College and serves on the research faculty in the School of Medicine at Johns Hopkins University. His current research examines psychosocial aspects in the management of and adjustment to chronic disease, especially diabetes. He lives in Baltimore, MD.
