The Invented Universe: How Science Explains the Supernatural - Hardcover

by D. L. Weller (Author)

This book offers a unique perspective on science's quest to provide testable and verifiable answers, particularly in the areas of the origins of the universe and life-domains where science often encounters significant limitations. With limited means to test and verify theories in these areas, explanations from the science community frequently rely on speculative ideas and complex mathematics, making them challenging for non-specialists to evaluate. Drawing on decades of experience as a patent attorney analyzing complex, high-tech inventions, the author brings clarity to these scientific explanations, examining their assumptions and limitations to make these topics more accessible and understandable. Approaching the subject as an outsider, the author brings a fresh perspective, critically evaluating scientific answers without the pressure to conform to prevailing theories. Institutional biases in scientific communities can create subtle or overt pressures to align with established models, often driven by factors like funding, academic advancement, and publication standards. Such an environment can discourage questioning of dominant views, even when alternative explanations hold merit. Free from these pressures, this book provides an independent and balanced evaluation of the evidence, inviting readers to explore these profound questions with an open mind.
