He graduated from Amherst College, received his MAT from Northwestern University, and earned his PhD from Indiana University. \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003c\/p\u003eMichael Shaffer served in schools in Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Indiana, and Iowa as an assistant principal, principal, and assistant superintendent.
