Author Biography

John Heald was born in Needham, Massachusetts in 1917. He served in the US Army Air Force from February, 1942 until September, 1945. His plane was shot down over Occupied France on August 16, 1943. He escaped into Spain just before Christmas in 1943. After the War he worked for many years in the Textile Manufacturing Industry until he retired. He died in 2008. James A. Heald, his son, lives in Sarasota, Florida. He has written a book on Canadian Singer-Songwriter-Guitarist Bruce Cockburn titled World of Wonders and is also a songwriter, having released three CDs of original music. His books and music are available on Amazon.com.
